No flowers in my hair.

April 7, 2006

Hanging out in San Francisco for the California Web Accessibility Conference. Beautiful weather, although it's always surprising since we don't realize this until we've left the building after three hours of computer lab training.

All sorts of famous internet nerds are here to talk about accessibility. The keynote speaker was Molly Holzschlag (who was surprisingly engaging for somebody attempting to address two hundred web geeks at 9:00am while operating on minimum coffee). It didn't actually occur to me to remember where I'd heard of her before until a woman at my table got all starry-eyed and said, "I'm so excited about hearing her, I have all her books!" I nodded understandingly, swigged more coffee, and replied, "Guh."

But then she started talking and I remembered – internet celebrity. It was very exciting. At least it was when I finally woke up, three hours later.
